YOU CAN TAKE GRANNY OUT OF THE BUSH, BUT YOU CAN'T TAKE THE BUSH OUT OF GRANNY

we have a tradition, some friends and i. Friday evenings after work, we collect in a local pub to celebrate surviving another week. we order carafes of wine and platters of wings, and savor the coming weekend. this past Friday, as some of our more fortunate members were still enjoying their seasonal time-off, we met @ their home in the country. it was a mild day, for midwinter, so they built a campfire after we'd feasted and toasted each others' health, and we adjourned to the out-of-doors for more toasts, some involving flaming marshmallows. as i downloaded the pictures, my camera still smelled pleasantly of woodsmoke.

Diana,

That sounds like a perfect way to end the week. Great photograph, too!

I found you!! Happy New Year and thanks for signing my guest book and especially for the photo. It's nice to see the face of a friend.

cicero - Friday evening get togethers are the best part of the week. yes, it is very good for granny.

kate - it'll be too cold to do a campfire this friday, so no doubt we'll be back at the pub then.

granny - happy 2008 to you too! i'm glad you found me. yes, now we're 'face to face' ;0)

A very pleasant sounding excursion and evocative photo.

Have your violin students voted on a name for your harp?

Best wishes

hi LL - the harp... i'm a bit swamped right now, and keep forgetting to do the list up for them to vote on... thanks for the reminder. i'll do it today.

my eldest son is visiting from his home in the Yukon, and has volunteered to do the much needed renovation to the kitchen in the 'new' house. thrilling, but chaotic.
